One important difference

An imported ICS file does not auto-update

This download includes the games shown when you create it. If a game moves, your imported copy stays unchanged. Use a calendar subscription when you want later schedule changes to appear automatically.

How to import the NBA schedule ICS file

Import into Google Calendar

  1. Open Google Calendar on desktop.
  2. Open Settings → Import & export.
  3. Select the .ics file, choose a destination calendar and import.

Import into Apple Calendar

  1. Open the downloaded .ics file.
  2. Choose Apple Calendar if prompted.
  3. Select or create a separate NBA calendar and add the events.

Import into Outlook

  1. Open Outlook Calendar and choose Add calendar.
  2. Select Upload from file.
  3. Choose the .ics file and the calendar where the games should go.

Fan tip: import into a dedicated NBA calendar instead of your main calendar. You can hide it during the offseason and clear it before importing a replacement file.

Does the downloaded NBA ICS schedule update automatically?

No. This tool creates a snapshot. If dates or tipoff times change, generate and import a fresh file or use the NBA calendar subscription page instead.

What information is included in each calendar event?

Each event includes the matchup, tipoff, expected game duration, venue when available, TV or streaming listing, game status and a link back to the game page.

Will the ICS file use my local timezone?

Yes. Timed games use universal UTC time, so your calendar app converts each tipoff to its configured timezone. Games with a time still TBA are added as date-only tentative events.

Can I download only one team's home games?

Yes. Pick a team, choose Home games only, and add any date, TV or season-stage filters you need before building the file.

How do I avoid duplicate NBA events when importing again?

Import the replacement file into a separate NBA calendar that you can clear first. A subscribed calendar is easier if you expect frequent schedule updates.
