NBA Cup tickets 2026 at a glance
There is no single on-sale process for every 2026 NBA Cup ticket. Group Play seats are already part of the host teams' 2026-27 home schedules and are sold through those teams' ticket providers. The neutral-site Championship at Hinkle Fieldhouse has its own public sale on October 1, 2026. Official premium Championship packages are available before that date through NBA Experiences.
| Stage | Dates | Where to buy | Current status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group Play | Oct. 30-Nov. 27 | Host team ticket provider | Game inventory varies by team |
| Quarterfinals | Dec. 4-5 | Host team ticket provider | Matchups and hosts TBD |
| Semifinals | Dec. 8 and/or 9 | Host team ticket provider | Matchups and hosts TBD |
| Championship | Dec. 11 | NBA Events / NBA Experiences | Public sale Oct. 1; premium packages available |
The date distinction matters. An August NBA FAQ said general Championship tickets would go on sale that month, but the live NBA Events page now displays October 1. As of September 8, this guide uses the newer event-page date. Fans can sign up for official alerts instead of treating an older announcement as proof that standard seats have already sold out.
Use the 2026 NBA Cup schedule, groups and bracket guide to identify the right game before opening a ticket marketplace. That simple check prevents the most common mistake: buying a regular-season game involving a Cup team but on a date that is not designated as Cup play.
Championship sale date and Hinkle Fieldhouse
The Championship is a standalone ticket decision. It will be played Friday, December 11 at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, with the finalists determined only a few days earlier. Buyers on October 1 are purchasing the event and venue before knowing which East and West teams will reach it. Early buyers gain access to the first standard inventory, but cannot choose based on a favorite team's qualification.
General tickets go on sale October 1
The clearest current instruction is on the official NBA Events page: Championship tickets go on sale October 1. Fans who want primary inventory should register for an official alert, create any required ticketing account in advance and save a payment method before the queue opens. The NBA has not published an on-sale time on the page as of September 8, so do not assume midnight, noon or an Eastern Time start without checking the event page again.
Listings can appear elsewhere before October 1. The AXS event page, for example, labels its currently visible offer as “AXS Marketplace,” which is resale inventory. A reseller can list a ticket or expected allocation before the primary public sale, and the asking price is set by that seller. It does not replace the NBA's stated general-sale date or establish face value.
A 9,100-seat venue changes the buying plan
Renovated Hinkle Fieldhouse holds about 9,100 spectators, far fewer than a typical NBA arena. The smaller room is part of the appeal: the final moves from three years at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas to an intimate building central to Indiana basketball history. It also means the sellable pool will be reduced further by team allocations, league partners, media positions, premium packages and event operations.
Capacity alone does not prove an instant sellout, because the finalists and demand are unknown. It does justify preparation. Decide the maximum all-in amount per seat, choose two or three acceptable sections and keep the official event page open before the sale. If the first price exceeds the limit, leave the queue rather than converting urgency into an unplanned purchase. More inventory may appear after production holds are released or qualified teams distribute their allocations, although neither outcome is guaranteed.
The final is also the only neutral-site game in the 2026 tournament. Quarterfinals and semifinals are played in NBA team markets, while Hinkle hosts the winner-take-all Championship. Confirm that a listing says Hinkle Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, December 11; Gainbridge Fieldhouse is the Pacers' downtown arena and is a different venue.
How much will NBA Cup tickets cost?
Standard Championship face values are still unknown, while prices for scheduled Group Play games are already visible. Those are different markets and should not be combined into one promised starting price.
Standard Championship face values are not public yet
The NBA Events page announces the October 1 sale but does not list standard ticket tiers as of September 8. The AXS event page currently labels visible inventory as resale marketplace offers.
That means a buyer cannot yet cite an official cheapest face value for the Hinkle final. A premium NBA Experiences package includes a game ticket plus added access, so its price is not a substitute for the base cost of an ordinary seat. A resale ask is also not face value. Until primary tiers appear, any article promising a fixed Championship entry price is estimating.
Build a range from your own ceiling instead. Set one amount for the ticket, another for travel, and a small reserve for fees or a better section. If the October 1 primary options fit, buy the exact seats you selected. If they do not, the decision becomes whether to change sections, monitor later official releases or accept resale risk.
Marketplace prices are snapshots, not a price guide
Live listings can help set a personal budget, but every number depends on the date, arena, matchup, row and remaining inventory. Compare the final checkout total for a specific seat.
A September 8 SeatGeek snapshot showed how wide the Group Play market already was: listed get-in prices included about $22 for Hornets at Wizards, $104 for Bulls at Celtics, $156 for Lakers at Warriors and $264 for Knicks at 76ers. These were not equivalent seats and were not Championship prices. They simply show that opponent interest and home-market demand can overwhelm the Cup label itself.
Ticketmaster gives a broad $100-$160 average estimate for NBA Cup games, but an average across events cannot price one Hinkle seat. It may mix upper and lower levels, known Group Play opponents and future tournament stages. Use it as context, then judge a listing by section, row, quantity, delivery method and all-in total. Record the date of any comparison because the same seat can move after injuries, team form or qualification changes demand.
How to buy Group Play tickets
Group Play is the easiest stage to shop because all 60 games have known teams, dates and host arenas. Each team plays four designated games, split into two at home and two on the road. Those games count in the regular-season standings, so the ticket is sold as part of the home team's normal single-game inventory rather than through one central tournament box office.
Start with the host team's official provider
Open the official NBA Cup schedule, identify the home team listed second, and follow that club's ticket link. For Knicks at 76ers on October 30, for example, Philadelphia is the host and its provider controls primary seats. For Lakers at Warriors that night, Golden State is the host. NBATickets.com can route fans toward official team inventory when the provider is not obvious.
Search by the exact opponent and date, then compare section and row. A team page may also offer verified resale beside standard tickets, so read the label before assuming the price is face value. Season-ticket transfers can be legitimate, but the ticket should arrive through the arena's accepted mobile system rather than as a screenshot.
Check that the game is actually a Cup Night
The seven 2026 Cup Nights are October 30 and November 6, 13, 20, 24, 25 and 27. The full schedule marks every matchup with its group. That label matters more than a marketplace title. Teams from the same group can meet again elsewhere in the regular season, and that second meeting may have no effect on Cup qualification.
Confirm four items before payment: road team, home team, local date and arena. Then compare the listing with the 2026-27 NBA schedule. Time zones can shift the calendar date shown to an international buyer, while arena listings use local event time. A broadcast on Prime, NBC or ESPN confirms national coverage, but it does not change the validity of a ticket purchased through the host.
Do not confuse an admission ticket with a parking-only listing. Marketplaces often place parking inventory beside the game, sometimes with a similar title and a time one minute after tip-off. The item type should explicitly grant entry to the basketball game.
How Quarterfinal and Semifinal tickets work
Knockout Round tickets involve more uncertainty than Group Play. The eight qualifiers are not settled until the last Cup Night on November 27, yet the Quarterfinals begin December 4. Teams and ticket providers therefore may create conditional event pages before the bracket exists. The page can reserve a place in the account system without confirming that the game will be played.
The teams and hosts are decided late
Six group winners and one wildcard from each conference advance. The teams are seeded by their Group Play records and tournament tiebreakers. In each conference, the two best group winners host Quarterfinals; the top group winner hosts the wildcard. A fan cannot infer the host from reputation, overall regular-season record or current playoff position.
The same seeding principle now controls the Semifinals. Starting with the 2026-27 season, the higher-seeded team in each conference hosts that game on December 8 or 9. This is a major change from the first three editions, when Semifinals were held in Las Vegas. Advice that tells 2026 buyers to shop for a semifinal session at T-Mobile Arena is outdated. Only the December 11 Championship at Hinkle Fieldhouse is neutral-site inventory.
Use the final Group Play standings, then confirm the official bracket and host-team event page. The short turnaround may compress travel planning, but it also prevents paying for the wrong city based on a projection.
Buying early versus waiting for the matchup
Buy a conditional listing early
This can place a ticket in your account before qualification, but the opponent, date or even the game itself may remain TBD. Read what happens if the team is eliminated, seeded away or assigned the other semifinal date.
Wait for the bracket
You gain certainty about both teams, the arena and date. The tradeoff is a shorter shopping window and the possibility that a popular matchup draws more buyers.
A current Utah Jazz AXS listing illustrates the wording to inspect: it says “TBD at Utah Jazz,” “If Team Qualifies,” “Date TBD” and “If Necessary.” Those qualifiers are part of the product. Open the event details and the order's purchase terms before paying. Do not assume a refund, credit, transfer to a different date or seat relocation will work the same way across teams and platforms.
If travel is required, keep the hotel and transportation flexible until the host is official. A lower-seeded team can qualify while playing every Knockout game away, and a conditional home ticket does not turn into an away ticket. The most reliable sequence is bracket first, official host link second, exact event conditions third and checkout last.
Official Championship packages and what they include
NBA Experiences is already selling official premium packages for the December 11 Championship. These are bundled products: every tier includes a Hinkle Fieldhouse game ticket plus at least one extra. They should be compared with other hospitality products, not used as evidence of what a standard ticket will cost on October 1.
Compare Trophy, MVP, Legend and Hall of Fame access
| Package | Seat zone | Main experiences |
|---|---|---|
| Trophy | 200-Level corner or behind basket | NBA Cup trophy photo |
| MVP | Lower-level corner | Pregame hospitality and trophy photo |
| Legend | Lower-level sideline | Hospitality, on-court Legend photo and trophy photo |
| Hall of Fame | Premium lower-level sideline | Hospitality and NBA Legends Dinner |
All four named tiers also advertise one month of NBA League Pass, with blackout restrictions, and the code is sent after the event. The Trophy tier is the simplest route if the commemorative photo matters but pregame food and drink do not. MVP adds hospitality and moves the ticket downstairs. Legend emphasizes two photo experiences and sideline seating. Hall of Fame exchanges the trophy and on-court photo combination for premium sideline placement and a separate Legends Dinner.
Start with the inclusion you would pay for even if the finalists are not your favorite teams. Then compare the precise seat selection and final checkout amount. A lower level label alone does not describe angle, row or distance, and a hospitality bundle can cost more than the value a buyer places on its extras. The official package pages did not expose a durable public price chart in this review, so the live package selector and checkout are the price source.
None of these packages includes Group Play, a Quarterfinal or a Semifinal. The Championship ticket is valid regardless of which teams qualify, and purchasing a package does not reserve tickets for a finalist's earlier games.
A safe NBA Cup ticket purchase checklist
A ticket can show the correct teams and still be the wrong product. NBA Cup searches mix standard inventory, verified resale, parking passes, premium packages and conditional Knockout events. Run this check before payment, then repeat the delivery check well before leaving for the arena.
Verify the event, seller and mobile transfer
- 1. Match the event. Confirm both teams or “Championship,” the local date, arena, quantity and whether a Knockout listing says if necessary.
- 2. Reach the provider from an official route. Begin at the NBA schedule, host team's site or NBA Events page. Check the domain before entering account or payment details.
- 3. Identify the inventory type. Look for standard, resale, VIP, parking or add-on labels. A reseller controls a resale ask; it can be above or below original face value.
- 4. Read delivery and remedy terms. Note when the mobile ticket should arrive and what support promises if it does not. Conditional events need an additional check for elimination or a host change.
- 5. Accept the ticket in the official account. Use the email tied to the receiving account and verify the seat appears there. A screenshot is not a mobile transfer.
Ticketmaster says its Mobile Entry screenshots will not scan and recommends opening the ticket in its app or adding it to Apple or Google Wallet. AXS has its own Mobile ID and transfer process. The event's provider and the order email determine which system to use. If a social-media seller only sends an image of a barcode, the buyer has no secure account transfer and the same image could have been shared more than once.
Budget for the all-in total
Compare the last payable amount for the same number of seats. Ticketmaster defines its all-in display as the ticket price plus required fees, while noting that taxes and an optional delivery method can still add cost at checkout. Other sellers may present the breakdown differently. The number that belongs in a budget is the final total immediately before purchase, divided by the ticket quantity.
Add transportation, parking, lodging and any exchange-card charge for an international buyer. Keep premium hospitality separate so it is clear how much is being spent on the seat and how much on the experience. Never compare one marketplace's pre-fee “from” price with another platform's checkout total.
Barcode access may open closer to the game even when the order is valid. That delay should match the provider's stated delivery schedule and remain visible in the account. If it does not, contact the platform through the official help page rather than a phone number supplied in an unsolicited message.
Seat and trip planning for Hinkle Fieldhouse
Hinkle is a compact historic fieldhouse on Butler University's campus, not the Pacers' downtown building. Its smaller footprint can make the room feel close to the floor, but the view and arrival plan still depend on the exact section. Finish both decisions while the ticket can still be changed in the cart.
Choose a view before choosing a package
Start with viewing angle. A lower-level sideline seat gives the most natural end-to-end perspective and is attached to the Legend or Hall of Fame premium tiers. Lower-level corners, offered with MVP, trade some center-court symmetry for a closer diagonal view. The Trophy package's 200-Level corners show both baskets on an angle, while 200-Level behind-basket seats look directly along the court and can place the near rim in the sightline.
The package name does not replace a section and row. Open the live venue map, select two seats, and compare their position with the package description before checkout. If standard tickets become available, use the same method rather than assuming every lower-level seat is better than every upper-level seat. A high row near midcourt may fit a fan who values tactical spacing more than a closer baseline view.
Buy accessible seating through the event's announced process. Butler identifies accessible entrances near Gates 1 and 4 and an elevator through Gate 1, but Championship seat allocation and companion-seat rules should be confirmed with the ticket seller. Contact support before purchase if the map does not clearly show the required location.
Plan arrival around a campus arena
Hinkle is roughly six miles north of Gainbridge Fieldhouse. A navigation result for the Pacers' arena is wrong for the Championship even if it also says Indianapolis. Save Hinkle Fieldhouse on Butler's campus as the destination, then verify the entrance in the event email.
Butler's current visitor information says Hinkle Lot parking for football and basketball is presold and points event visitors to the Sunset Avenue Garage as another campus resource. That is useful background, not a confirmed NBA Cup parking program. Championship lots, prices, shuttle service, rideshare zones and road closures can be different. Recheck NBA Events, Butler and the ticket-provider message during event week before buying a parking listing.
- Before travel: confirm the Dec. 11 event, Hinkle destination, hotel cancellation deadline and mobile-ticket account.
- During event week: check doors, bag policy, parking reservation, rideshare point and any weather advisory.
- Before leaving: add the ticket to the approved wallet, charge the phone and save the purchaser's support details.
- At campus: follow event signs and staff directions; reserved, ADA and tow-away spaces remain controlled even during public events.
Arrive earlier than you would for a familiar home arena. A first visit involves finding the correct lot, walking across campus and locating a historic building's assigned gate. The final event instructions should control whenever they differ from a regular Butler game guide.
